Olango Island Kids



Eking out a living. These kids eke out a living by selling necklace made up of sea shells to tourists who visit Olango Island off Mactan, Cebu. The lure of easy money, however, sends these kids out of school and in to the cold sea water.

Cebu Firecracker Makers


Meeting the demand. Despite the police crackdown against unlicensed firecracker factories, several clandestine factories still exist in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City, giving livelihood to hundreds of residents, especially as Christmas and New Year come near. For a mere P1 per 100 pieces of firecrackers, these women spend the whole day attaching blasting cords to 'Judas Belt'
